Construction Update – The Tower – March 2017
31st March 2017Works progress this month to Vermont’s new head office. 1st fix M&E works remain ongoing with the majority of 1st fix electrical works scheduled to be complete by the 3rd March. 1st fix electrical duct works remains ongoing, however is complete in certain areas on the first floor. Dry liner is due back on site on the 3rd to commence 2nd board/MF Ceiling.
Glazed partitions to ground floor boardroom & first floor meeting room scheduled to commence on site on the 13th. Upon completion of 1st fix M&E, tapers are to return to site to finish off tape & jointing to walls and ceiling. Intumescent paint application to steel columns & hollow sections are scheduled to take place on Saturday 11thMarch.
Due to the quiet nature of this activity it will not cause any disturbance. Works continue to the concrete core of the tower reaching the 9th floor by 1st March. One feature elliptical column is to be cast on 1st March with the aim of 1 being poured each week. The Tower crane is scheduled to be erected this weekend (4th and 5th). There will be a section of Sefton Street closed from the Coburg Pub to the bottom of Upper Parliament Street.
