Construction Update – The Tower – January 2017

31st January 2017

This month sees further works to the ground floor units (one of which Vermont will occupy as their head office). The first floor mezzanine slab level and ground floor slab are now complete. Structural Frame Steelwork is starting to be installed to the front elevation, whilst curtain walling to the fronts is currently being installed.

Temporary edge protection is currently being installed to the first floor level along with suitable access and scaffold surround. Floor boxes and conduit chase runs are envisaged to be cut out of floor slabs w/c 23.01.17. All material deliveries and plant are to come through front entrance on Sefton Street as indicated in the material and logistics plan. All delivery access is controlled by the gateman and logistics manager for the site to prevent any congestion along the dual carriageway.

As the works are being carried out directly beneath an occupied building, Vermont will only be working Monday – Friday from 8.30am to 5.00pm. The Tower crane has been envisaged to be assembled on site for 4th/5th February and the slip form is currently being built for site.
