Construction Update – The Tower – January 2018

We kicked off this year with the topping out ceremony on 11th January, with companies all taking in the view of the city and celebrating the hard work that has been put into The Tower so far. Works are continuing and Heyrod have installed rebar and the concrete pour to Level 24 (Roof) is now complete as well as the reinforcement bar to parapet wall being installed. Formwork to the lift shaft over run walls have been installed, concrete pour of the lift shaft overrun took place on 23rd January with this operation continuing the following week. (Weather permitting) Heyrod are continuing to prepare floor levels 16 -17 for handover and continuation of handover for levels 18 – 19. Casting of parapet walls are due to be complete at the end of January. Also Heyrod are due to dismantle screens at the end of the month and commence clearing the site and off-hiring of equipment. Staticus have commenced on site and installed brackets to halfen channels on various levels. Additionally sections A1/A2 have been torqued, inspected and passed whilst in the same area, bolts are being connected through the mullions. Intex have now built water riser walls on levels 1 – 5 and are now commencing the construction of electric and smoke vent riser walls up to level 5. HE Simm have commenced installation of wet riser system, whilst 1st ductwork is now complete up to levels 10 and the 1st sprinklers up to level 14.

Traffic management (any issues for neighbours):

An initial date has been set for 3rd & 4th February for the tower crane to be dismantled, however this is weather permitting.
